Scholars Call for U.N. Prosecution of Terrorists

A Call for UN & World Leaders to Prosecute Organizers of Suicide/Homicide Bombings Against Civilians as War Criminals by Scholars for Peace in the Middle East inspired this response from me:

While I wholeheartedly agree that the use of human bombs against civilian targets is a crime against humanity, I cannot support this petition for the following reasons:

1. The United Nations directly supports terrorism itself, in the guise of "aid" to groups such as Hamas and Islamic Jihad, pumping this money into them via the "refugee camps" that have been perpetuated for over half a century. It has also stridently condemned every act of self-defense taken by Israel, while mumbling vague "condemnations" about the Arab terrorism that incites Israeli responses. The U.N. is part of the problem, not the solution.

2. The document supports the idea of negotiation with terrorists. This is absurd. You cannot negotiate with an enemy whose stated purpose is genocide. There is nothing to discuss with such people, only a war to win.

3. The document advocates "universal" disarmament. This has always been nothing but code for the unilateral disarmament of the United States. I cannot support either, because both are asinine, dangerous and impractical.

4. Although sponsored by Scholars for Peace in the Middle East, an apparently well-intentioned but misguided bunch, the document appears to be "underwritten" by Amnesty International and Human Rights Watch, both of which have demonstrated remarkable bias in their "condemnations", and are nothing more than front groups for international socialism. It is pleasantly surprising to find them finally getting around to condemning their "freedom fighter" buddies attacking women and children in Israel, but it will be a cold day in hell before I ever trust this scurrilous bunch of useful idiots.

5. The "International War Crimes Tribunal" is the precise name that has been used by Ramsey Clark and a dubious cast of characters to, among other things, "convict" George H. W. Bush, Dan Quayle, Dick Cheney and Norman Schwarzkopf of "war crimes" during the Gulf War. There is no legitimacy to such a group. I'm supposed to support that? Don't insult my intelligence. The U.N. tends to form "International Criminal Tribunals" at the Hague. There is a difference, and it does matter, especially in such a pompous context.

6. I cannot lend any semblance of legitimacy to the United Nations, which has continuously exceeded its mandate, supports terrorism and despotism, wastes my tax money to create massive criminal syndicates masquerading as "humanitarian aid", promotes Marxism and continues to assault the sovereignty of the United States.

No thanks. I support withdrawal from the United Nations, not appeals to this corrupt relic of Stalinism to usurp more authority that it does not have, or legitimizing leftist crackpots like Ramsey Clark and his ludicrous gypsy courts.

Rush Limbaugh, Drug Addict?

Everything about this story stinks of a hit job, possibly orchestrated by "professionals". From what I have heard and read, Rush's accuser has provided extensive documentation and evidence to support her allegations.

Let's consider the basics of this case, as described by the New York Daily News:

Cline told the Enquirer she went to prosecutors with information about Limbaugh and others after four years of drug deals that included clandestine handoffs in a Denny's parking lot.

She said she wore a wire during her last two deliveries to the conservative commentator and gave the tapes to authorities.

She also gave the Enquirer a ledger documenting how many pills she claimed to have bought for him - 4,350 in one 47-day period - and E-mails she claimed Limbaugh sent her.

If this is true, then Wilma Cline is basically admitting to illegally trafficking in these drugs, which constitutes a felony for each occasion that she has done so, and is therefore providing enough evidence to ensure several lifetimes behind bars.

Why?

She claimed that a lawyer for Limbaugh gave her a payoff - $80,000 he owed her, plus another $120,000 - and asked her to destroy the computer that contained the E-mail records.

Soon after, Cline and her husband retained Shohat and contacted prosecutors.

So she got $200,000 from Limbaugh, then decided to file criminal charges that implicate her more than Limbaugh?

It is preposterous for a drug dealer to basically say, "Sure, I sold him the drugs, but he took them!". That has never earned any drug dealer leniency in the past, why would it now, barring politics?

And why is she using the same lawyer, Ed Shohat, who defended Democratic fundraiser Howard Glicken in 1998 against Justice Department charges that he violated the Federal Election Campaign Act (Glicken pled guilty to soliciting a $20,000 donation from an overseas national in 1993)?

An independent choice, or the use of Democratic party "resources" for a hit job? And what criminal defense attorney, which Shohat is, would counsel his client to expose herself needlessly to potentially spending the rest of her life behind bars? What sort of attorney inspires that sort of confidence? Would you put your life on the line like this for nothing?

This doesn't add up, unless one considers the broader motive of taking Rush Limbaugh out of the political landscape, and assurances on Mrs. Cline's part that she has powerful allies covering her back.

We'll see what shakes out of this, but I smell the distinct aroma of a Rat.

Clearing the decks for Hillary '04? All the signs are there.
